"We had found a way to love our new neighbors in a way they would enjoy and respond."
Food, Families and Friendship
Our desire is to create an effective gospel outreach to the men in the community. We had tried a variety of ways to build relationships, but nothing seemed to work. Then, in a way that only God could orchestrate, we met ’T’.
‘T’, an Afghani chef, was surprised and pleased with our desire to get to know Afghani men and their families. ‘T’ suggested that we prepare a feast and invite the community to attend. In this way, we could get to know each other while sharing Afghani food and culture. We had found a way to love our new neighbors in a way they would enjoy and respond.
To our joy and surprise, over 118 people from the Afghani community attended the feast! Good food and conversation led to deepening relationships. Pray that we might find favor with the men so that ultimately, we have opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus with them and their families!
